We are Old Dominion Iron Chefs the International Dutch Oven Society chapter here in Central Virginia. We cover the Piedmont of Virgina with members from Northern Va to the Eastern Shore to Southern Virginia. The chapter was started in the winter of 2012 with the goal to share the love of dutch oven cooking. When exploring our site you will find recipes of what we have cooked, pictures of food and info of our DOGS(Dutch Oven Gatherings) and chapter activities. Our Chapter goals is to share the art and history of cooking in dutch ovens and cast iron.  Membership in our chapter is free. We have an events calendar that will keep up with all of our chapters events and other dutch oven events in the area. One of the main things we do is having DOGs (Dutch Oven Gathering).  A DOG is a potluck dinner where people bring the dutch ovens and cook a dish that is shared with everyone. No two DOGs are the same the food is always great and there is always lots of it. So bring your dutch oven to one of the DOGs and we show you how to cook in it and enjoy the great food is can make if you don’t have a dutch oven don’t worry come and enjoy the food and you might get hooked on dutch oven cooking. Old Dominion Iron Chefs also performs demos and teaches dutch oven classes for Virginia State Park system, Boy Scouts troops and districts and also Bass Pro Shops. In May of 2013 we hosted a Dutch Oven cook-off. We are a growing group and love to have you join our group for good food, good fun and good friends!!!
